Don't see your manufacturer?
California's lemon law applies to every manufacturer that sells new vehicles here with a written warranty, including Toyota, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Subaru, Mazda, Volvo, Rivian, Lucid, and others. The rules on repair attempts, buybacks, and attorney fees are the same for all of them.
What does differ is procedure. Since 2025, each manufacturer decides whether to follow a newer set of lemon law procedures with pre-suit notice, early mediation, and shorter filing deadlines. The Department of Consumer Affairs keeps the current list, and we check it for every vehicle. Read what changed.
